Concerned Persons WB

The new edition of Concerned Persons is now available. This nine-session small group study:

  • Is user friendly - Facilitator and Group Member Guide coordinated page for page.
  • Is primarily for those who want to help someone close to them who is enslaved by the stronghold of a life-controlling problem.
  • Is also for people who are suffering the consequences of a loved one's life-controlling problem.

One distinctive of Living Free is that it emphasizes ministry to the web of relationships of persons who are struggling with a problem. As Ted Pearson of the Highland Park Evangelical Free Church in Columbus, Nebraska stated:

This recently released curriculum is designed for children (ages 8-11). It offers the fun of colorful characters like JC (Jesus Cares) Bulldog, Opie Peacock, Bonnie Bat and Olivia Ostrich, with the richness and power of God's Word. We believe God will work through this group to empower kids for life. We are already receiving an enthusiastic response from churches.

More information is available here and the materials are now in the online store.

2008 Living Free Conference

The annual Living Free International Training Conference took place at Cohutta Springs from October 5-8. Each year God seems to do something a little different in the lives of the attendees. This year was no exception. The theme was "Transformed into His Likeness." God moved through speakers, small group leaders and individual ministry to minister to the participants and motivate many to expand their outreach to others. Comments included these:

"The transformation of our lives and lives of others is key to growing spiritually."…
"I was reminded-again-of the hope and future we have in Jesus Christ." …
"Let's not make it hard for new people to come to Christ." …
"[I learned] to rest and take more time to just be still." …
"Reminded of need of intimacy with God."

Participants were also introduced to J.C. Bulldog, the coach and teacher from the new childrens' Insight, Empowering Kids for Life curriculum. J.C. generated excitement and frivolity as he posed in photos with attendees and "supervised" a variety of contests.

We are excited about the development of our outreach to children. Insight Group: Empowering Kids for brunson_jeanLife (for ages 8-11) is fast becoming a reality. The Insight curriculum was adapted by Jean Brunson and developed by Living Free at the request of Tom and Lois Lofton, who were urged by a request from Republic of South Africa to provide a curriculum for older primary grade school children. This is the group at high risk for drug addiction and child exploitation.

JC Bulldog with Jimmy, Louise, Lois and DanInsight Group, our first and still most-used curriculum, is for people who need help to stay free from life-controlling problems. We currently have a youth edition and look forward with great anticipation to having this children’s version available as well. The study guides participants in discovering the path to Christian character. In our current society, where the very fiber of morality seems to be decaying more and more rapidly, we believe it is vital to start teaching children these biblical truths at an early age. Jesus’ words in Mark 10:14 demonstrate how important these little ones are to him:

Richard and his familyRyszard Paciocha coordinates Living Free ministry under the umbrella of Teen Challenge Poland. Yesterday Richard reported the following.

Tomorrow we are giving the completed translation of Free to Grow to the printer and hope to have it ready for the groups in two weeks. The Lord, as always, was good and we collected the money for the project in only a short time.
