David Turner, missionary to Honduras just reported about Living Free training events he conducted in September 2010.
He travelled into a remote region to the town of Moskitia where 25 persons completed the Living Free training. Among those attending were 5 pastors, teachers, a judge and an engineer. Those attending were very excited about the Living Free materials and they plan to begin groups right away. David will return in November to follow up with them.
Moskitia has a population of about 9,000 and with no paved roads there with limited access to the outside world. This small town suffers as high rate of drug addiction because much of the drug traffic from Colombia flows through the Moskitia region.
David also did training October 2 in San Pedro Sula, where 42 persons from 7 churches attended. Again the participants were very enthusiastic and there are plans to begin groups in the city. They are also looking at the possibility of beginning a day-program similar to Lifeline Connection where people can receive help for addictions in a non-residential setting.
