Helping the Homeless through Living Free

Dayspring Logo Living Free ministry takes on a life of its own in many communities and ministries. One such place is Dayspring Worship Center in Springfield, Missouri.

Kaye Mark Rev. Kay Mark is the Director of Hand Extended Outreach for Dayspring. Every week, Dayspring ministers to the homeless and destitute of Springfield. At first glance Springfield would be considered an average mid-western town, but looking deeper one would find out that Springfield is a transient town. With the geographic location along Interstate 44, people from all walks of life have plans to make Springfield a stopping point on a journey farther west only to find themselves in a county with people struggling with meth abuse and domestic violence.

Chi Chi Chi Chi, a lady currently in the Living Free groups at Dayspring, said she and her husband were on their way to Oregon from the East Coast when they found themselves in Springfield looking for work and being introduced to meth. For five years she struggled to find a way out. Chi Chi reported that she had an altercation with her husband and was arrested for domestic violence and became very depressed. One day Dayspring church was feeding the homeless and Chi Chi came looking for food. She was given a hot meal and asked if she wanted to get help for her addictions. Chi Chi began coming to the Living Free groups and has been drug free for more than three months.

Every week, Dayspring ministers to approximately one hundred and eighty people in Living Free groups. Dayspring is bringing the light of God’s transforming power to Chi Chi along with a multitude of others through the Word of God, the Spirit of God and the people of God.

Soldier Please pray for Dayspring as a door of opportunity just opened in providing Living Free groups to military personnel and their families struggling with post traumatic stress and other life-controlling issues.ng>
