2010 Living Free International Conference Recap
The fellowship was enriching, the scenery was breathtaking and our speakers encouraged us to apply our theme of “Breaking Down the Walls.”
Throughout the conference, Pastor Andres Bunch from El Pacto Ministries in Bogotá, Columbia, inspired us to break down walls by prayer, working with unwanted people, and perseverance.
Warden Burl Cain, from the Angola Louisiana State Prison, shared about the ministry happening in his 5,000 inmate facility and we are pleased that Living Free small groups are becoming active in the ministry there. More than 90% of his prisoners will never be free to live in society again, but they are becoming spiritually free. Since Warden Cain began his crusade of morality, the violence has decreased dramatically in a facility which was once well-known for horrible conflicts. According to Cain, “We don’t have faith dorms, we have a faith prison.”
Warden Cain’s steadfast desire is to have every prisoner become morally responsible. There are more than 150 prisoners who have become licensed ministers while incarcerated. Warden Cain sends these ministers to other prisons as missionaries. God is using Warden Cain to break down walls within prison walls. Visit youtube to see God’s hand at Angola.
Vision was birthed, people were encouraged and all of us were refreshed through insights gained in the Word of God, by the Spirit of God and through the people of God. See the conference photos here.
Make plans now! Join us at the 2011 Living Free International Conference at James River Assembly in Ozark, Missouri, from October 13-15, 2011. We look forward to seeing you there!
