Elena Kulagova conducted Living Free training for 130 participants at the Novolinskaya Church in the city of Novokuznetsk, Russia. Several churches sent representatives to the training and plan to conduct groups. Elena will return to the city in January 2010, to follow up with interested group facilitators to help them get a good start with the Living Free groups.

We are grateful to Elena for her work to bring Living Free to churches in Siberia, and to Pastor Ilya Bantseev for hosting the training at his church.

The next Living Free International Training Conference is scheduled for October 10-13, 2010, at the Cohutta Springs Conference Center in Crandall, Georgia.

This year's conference will feature Burl Cain, Warden of the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola. Once known as the “Bloodiest Prison in America,” under Warden Cain’s leadership it has become one of the safest, most secure and progressive maximum security prisons in the nation.

As Warden of the nation’s largest “Lifer” prison, he has implemented innovative and constructive programs for the inmates under his charge that have managed to encourage hope in this seemingly “hopeless” environment. Since his tenure at LSP, he has founded the LSP Bible College or Angola Branch of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, established the LSP Museum, established an award winning Hospice Program and obtained release from the 1976 Court Ordered Consent Decree. His common sense approach to effectively managing a correctional facility has led to him being nationally recognized as a leader in his field.
