Inmates Use Living Free to Reach Others

The following is a recent report from a church volunteer who takes Living Free into a Missouri jail.

"Wanted to give you an update on our classes at the jail. On Thursday, we have a group of men that is really on fire for God. One young man, Dustin, was a 3rd generation meth cook. He didn't know anything about Jesus. He got saved in jail. He has been in and out of prison all his life. We are doing the Living Free class on depression. We give them handouts with the lessons every week that they can follow along with and then take back to the pod (area of the jail). At the end of the lessons in this particular study are 5 days of in-depth Bible study. They have been taking these back and using them to teach the others in the pod. Dustin, the young man I referred to, is now leading the study and has seen several come to Christ. He has even been giving 2 of the Corrections Officers scriptures. We were seriously pumped when we came out of jail today. It is the ripple effect. I feel so privileged to get to do this."

Thank you God for volunteers who will take Living Free behind bars to reach people for Christ. Changed lives can change the world. Lord, continue to use Justin as he continues to use the Living Free studies to reach others for Jesus.

Living Free Groups in NC Coffee Shop

xxxYesterday we learned that the owners of Jumpin' Jacks Coffee and Creamery in Albemarle, N.C., will host Living Free groups in their establishment.

This is a wonderful idea that was very popular in years past and is now making a resurgence. Businesses where people enjoy socializing are a natural place for Living Free groups to meet. Maybe there is an opportunity like this where you live.

Living Free in Texas Prison

In addition to helping Christians in local churches, Living Free groups are conducted in prisons and jails across the United States and in other countries, too. Just today we received this report from Chuck Redger, a longtime Living Free faculty member who is now on staff at Christian Life Assembly in Lubbock, Texas.

Last Tuesday evening we had our first LF meeting in the Formby Unit in Plainview, TX. John Baker, a layperson from our church, and I started with the LF Seminar. We had 11 inmates plus 2 chaplains attending. The inmates were open as they answered questions and madegood comments. Our goal is to have the inmates conduct groups under our supervision.

Lifeline Connection Making a Difference

Scott County (Kentucky) Lifeline Connection (SCLC) was formed in the spring of 2008 after contact with the Family Court revealed a need for such a ministry. By summer, 20 volunteers from various churches were ready to lead groups. In only three years, 400 persons have been in the groups with impressive results. In 2010 SCLC was chosen from nominations by members of the 14th Judicial Circuit Family Court Council for the Making a Difference in Children’s Lives Award.

SCLC is such an effective ministry that one judge stated that Lifeline Connection is the only program that she refers people to that she can see definite changes in people’s lives. She says that when they reappear before her court, they are not the same people. She says I don’t fully know all that you do but I do know Lifeline Connection is making a difference.

Dennis is a member of the Living Free faculty and has helped other Lifeline Connection groups begin ministry in their respective communities.

Lifeline Connection is a community-wide expression of the the Living Free ministry model. For information on how your community can begin, contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
