What Others Say About Living Free
United States (parachurch ministries)
Ruth Graham, Ruth Graham & Friends It is so exciting to hear about the growth of Living Free as it expands globally and also, in the area of curriculum. As long as the enemy prowls about, there will always be a need for Living Free because hearts need healing and captives need to be set free.
How grateful I am for the partnership you have given to Ruth Graham and Friends. It certainly makes RG&F stronger and more unique. Thank you.
Clinical Supervisor, County Department of Corrections in New York I write you to commend Turning Point on the great job the facilitators are doing and the effectiveness of Turning Point as a whole. First, let me state that when I first introduced the concept of Turning Point it wasn’t readily received. I was met with skepticism in regards to its efficiency as a workable program. In addition, I was kindly reminded that it wasn’t a clinical program.
But I have to praise “HIM” who is greater than all, that God’s plans cannot be deterred. To date Turning Point has been one of the most successful components of [our] program … Not only has it brought individuals into a greater understanding of their addictive nature, it also facilitated a closer walk with God. …
Turning Point has been incorporated and recognized by the Program Committee at this penitentiary as a vital program and service under the division of Pastoral Care. As a certified clinician and a licensed clergy, I am ingratiated on the effectiveness and the transformational aspects of how Turning Point provides insight into the root causes of life controlling problem(s), but on how it also affects the general disposition and wellness of those who give themselves to its process. …
I will continue to endorse Turning Point.
Counselor, Tennessee I’ve been doing Living Free Insight and Twelve Steps to Freedom [Stepping into Freedom] groups with prisoners for about three years. I’ve seen amazing life transformations in male and female inmates with all types of criminal convictions. God uses these formats and the interactions in the groups to free individuals from destructive patterns in their lives in ways they never knew possible. … I feel the Living Free format is really just a pattern for authentic Christian living leading to something our society shuns—true spiritual and emotional maturity.
Senior Prison Chaplain, Florida Just wanted to thank you and your organization for the Turning Point Material that we are using in our “Faith Based” program, which we call the “Life Skills Program.” The material is outstanding and it is doing for many just as the title says, for inmates are coming to a turning point in their lives.
The volunteer chaplain that oversees the Life Skills dorm and myself have had contact with some inmates after their release—BOY, what a difference we have seen in their lives. The best part is since they have changed, with the results that they are back together with their families, off drugs, holding down jobs and faithful in their attendance to their churches. This story could be told over and over again as we continue to see it happen.
Pastor, Florida We are … reaching the Spanish population at the PBC “Gun Club” Correctional Center. A volunteer has been visiting the jail for the last year for an hour and a half a week. 180 prisoners have gone through Living Free, Insight and Anger Management [Spanish translations] and as a result, all have made Jesus Christ Lord of their lives.
Mission Manager, North Carolina The Stepping into Freedom material has broken the chains of addiction in so many of the men’s lives that walk through our mission doors. I thank God that he speaks through me in teaching your material.
